Our client is seeking a Team Lead for their Private Equity Accounting team. The role involves managing and delivering the reporting needs of a prestigious global private equity firm. The successful candidate will develop the Accounting Team and maintain strong relationships with clients, auditors, and other third parties. Responsibilities include reviewing, assisting, and preparing a variety of deliverables, such as audited financial statements, management accounts, tax reporting information, and ad-hoc reports for entities administered by the Private Equity department. Job Duties:
- Lead by example, demonstrating professional judgement and fostering an environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and effective communication.
- Promote strong communication through individual and team meetings, maintaining relationships with clients, auditors, the administration team, and other departments.
- Develop the Accounting Team by enhancing their technical skills through appraisals, interim reviews, coaching, and on-the-job training, while ensuring procedures are updated and adhered to daily.
- Organise the Accounting Team by setting concise timetables for key deliverables in consultation with clients and external parties, and ensure adherence while identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Provide technical knowledge and advice on accounting issues and current best practices, acting as a point of contact for technical matters.
- Design pro forma accounts that comply with regulations and standards and are agreed upon by clients and auditors.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reporting, including presenting to the Board of Directors where necessary, and ensure statutory accounts are filed within deadlines.
- Manage financial reporting for Guernsey funds, including those outsourced to other jurisdictions, and develop client-specific knowledge for ad-hoc queries.
- Ensure completion of complex fund valuations, distributions, calls/drawdowns, management fees, and other calculations.
- Complete internal reporting requirements as needed.
Job Requirements:
- An accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA preferred) with knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS.
- Understanding of Guernsey Company, POI, and Partnership laws, with the ability to stay up-to-date with developments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and confidence in engaging with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Proven people management experience with strong leadership and change management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to set priorities and manage deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of Investran are advantageous.
- A proactive team player, self-starter, and adaptable, able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
