IT Business Analyst

Our client is looking for an IT Business Analyst to join their team full-time, focusing on bridging the gap between business units and the IT department. The role aims to enhance the customer experience by identifying, refining, and implementing IT requirements across various business units within the airline industry. Job Duties:

  • Gather and analyse requirements from stakeholders, drafting Business Requirement documents.
  • Prepare detailed Business Requirement specifications, including test cases, flow charts, and user mock-ups.
  • Coordinate with developers, providing clear project plans with set timelines and regular follow-ups.
  • Conduct peer-group testing and compile test cases to align with business requirements.
  • Test the developed product against business specifications, identify issues, and facilitate re-testing.
  • Provide training materials and conduct user training for end-users.
  • Organise business testing, gather feedback, and ensure final sign-off.
  • Communicate updates to relevant parties before the release of products.
  • Update the website CMS as required and introduce industry innovations to the business.
  • Generate monthly project status, risk, and budget reports.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests, managing supplier interactions when necessary.
  • Lead daily stand-ups and project meetings, ensuring project progress aligns with goals.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Passenger Processing Systems (PPS), including IBE, DCS, Analytics, and Reporting.
  • Experience with airline reservation systems or GDSs is highly desirable.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills; fluency in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Background in a senior IT role within a small to medium-sized airline.
  • Understanding of passenger airline business models and distribution channels.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a business analyst or in application development/data-related roles.
  • Familiarity with the application development lifecycle and proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Business Process Design and Frameworks is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel when required.
  • Experience in website development functionality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a decentralised corporate environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of delivering customer-focused IT solutions.
  • High self-motivation and keen attention to detail.
  • University degree or significant industry experience in the airline sector.
