Resolution & Compensation Officer

Our client is seeking a Resolution and Compensation Officer to support the delivery of strategic objectives and the management of daily operations. This role, offered on a secondment basis, involves working closely with senior leadership to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, the maintenance of robust bank resolution plans, and the effective operation of the Depositors Compensation Scheme (DCS). The successful candidate will play a key role in protecting the local economy and enhancing the jurisdiction’s reputation as a leading international finance centre. 

Job Duties:

  • Ensure responsibilities under the relevant legislation are fully met.
  • Implement risk-based approaches to bank resolution and maintain resolution plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage with banks, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with minimum requirements for own funds and eligible liabilities.
  • Assess and improve bank recovery plans.
  • Assist senior leadership in preparing reports and materials for governance boards.
  • Conduct investigations and implement remediation plans for non-compliant banks.
  • Foster strong relationships with the local banking industry and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement improvements to internal processes and contribute to the development of resolution legislation.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the local financial services industry and international regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge of bank resolution regimes, deposit compensation schemes, and the role of resolution authorities is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with stakeholders.
  • Commitment to learning and professional development.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through teamwork and effective organisational skills.
