Compliance Monitoring Analyst

Our client is seeking a Compliance Monitoring Analyst to join their Risk and Compliance function. This role offers the opportunity to support compliance activities across the organisation in line with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and professional standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing the Group Compliance Monitoring Programme and supporting various compliance-driven initiatives.

 

Job Duties:

  • Assisting in the development and execution of the annual Group Compliance Monitoring Programme to evaluate the effectiveness of group policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating detailed monitoring reviews in line with the Group Compliance Monitoring Programme, including liaising with stakeholders as needed.
  • Preparing documentation and reports for monitoring reviews to present to relevant Boards.
  • Conducting 'second line' tests to ensure operational processes meet regulatory requirements and business standards.
  • Supporting the identification, assessment, and mitigation of money laundering and terrorism financing risks.
  • Maintaining compliance-related logs and databases to ensure accurate data recording and appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of financial crime, sanctions, and terrorist financing policies and procedures.
  • Analysing legal and regulatory changes relevant to the jurisdiction and supporting their integration into existing practices.
  • Participating in project initiatives aimed at improving compliance processes and efficiency.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a compliance function.
  • A good understanding of regulatory requirements affecting law firms and trust company businesses in the Channel Islands.
  • Experience in managing and updating a Compliance Monitoring Programme in response to evolving risks and regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of trust and company structures, including AML/CDD requirements.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to use initiative within the scope of policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
