Assistant Trust Manager, Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Trust Manager, Accountant to manage a portfolio of private clients, ensuring excellent client service and delivery. This role involves financial reporting, bookkeeping, compliance, and risk management while also providing leadership and support to junior team members. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to apply their expertise in a dynamic and client-focused environment.

Job Duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients, ensuring a high level of service and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and review client financial statements, valuations, and reports.
  • Handle a range of client queries efficiently and professionally.
  • Assist with bookkeeping, including posting all cash transactions.
  • Support the billing process and approve payments using online banking systems.
  • Assist with KYC and due diligence requests, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Supervise the collation of board papers, creating agendas and board packs for client meetings.
  • Attend board and committee meetings, providing financial input where necessary.
  • Ensure timely completion of timesheets for both self and junior team members.
  • Apply internal risk management procedures and ensure compliance within the team.
  • Uphold and promote company values and adhere to all internal policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Provide guidance and evaluate the performance of junior staff through formal and informal feedback.
  • Identify and propose solutions to any issues that arise within client portfolios.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and implement legal and tax advice.
  • High level of tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to complete work accurately and on time.
  • Proactive approach with close attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Proficiency in standard business software.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire respect and confidence.
  • Awareness of risk management principles and ability to apply them in daily responsibilities.
