Financial Crime Coordination Officer

Our client is seeking a Financial Crime Coordination Officer to support the enhancement of financial crime compliance activities. This role involves working closely with internal divisions and external agencies to ensure adherence to international standards, including those set by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). The position plays a key role in advancing financial crime policies, contributing to effectiveness reviews, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.

Job Duties:

  • Support Financial Crime Effectiveness Reviews to drive ongoing improvements in line with international standards.
  • Lead comprehensive reviews of policies and procedures to align AML/CFT/CPF approaches with FATF requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal divisions to enhance understanding of FATF standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Support and, where necessary, lead the development of governance protocols within the financial crime coordination function.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of financial crime training across all divisions.
  • Provide assistance to senior leadership in financial crime matters, including engagements at national and international levels.
  • Act as a key point of contact for partner agencies, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring consistency in regulatory approach.
  • Support the coordination of national financial crime initiatives and partnership engagements requiring regulatory input.
  • Represent the organisation externally and deputise for senior financial crime coordination leadership when required.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of financial crime regulatory frameworks, including AML/CFT/CPF obligations.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyse and interpret complex regulatory standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence outcomes and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
  • Previous experience in financial crime compliance, regulatory policy, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of international financial crime standards, particularly FATF requirements, is desirable.
