Operations Assistant Manager

Our client is seeking an Operations Assistant Manager to join their Guernsey office on a full-time basis. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth execution of business-as-usual operations, supporting strategic projects, and overseeing areas including IT, information security, and data protection. Reporting to the Head of Business Operations, you will work closely with internal teams and external service providers to maintain and develop the firm’s operational infrastructure.

Job Duties:

  • Lead and contribute to multiple strategic and operational projects, ensuring timelines and objectives are met
  • Liaise with the outsourced IT provider for business-as-usual IT operations, providing oversight and cover where necessary
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the firm’s information security strategy, working alongside the management team and vCISO
  • Assist the in-house Data Protection Representative in maintaining data protection compliance, policies, and procedures
  • Review, develop, and update operational policies and procedures to align with regulatory and governance requirements
  • Provide general office and operational support as part of the wider Operations team
  • Prepare and manage regular operational reporting, including board-level updates and management information

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in an operations or consulting role within the financial services industry
  • Ability to manage workloads independently, prioritise tasks effectively, and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, analytical approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence working across all levels of the organisation
  • Familiarity with systems such as Acumen, Microsoft 365, Investran, and document management platforms is beneficial, but not essential
  • Strong understanding of Guernsey laws and regulations, including GFSC requirements, anti-money laundering, information security, and data protection
  • Experience in managing people and broader teams
