Our client is seeking a Technical Assistant to support the Network Operations Manager on a full-time basis. The role involves delivering technical assistance across capital projects, managing asset information systems, and supporting the performance analysis of fixed assets under the organisation's control. You will also be responsible for permit coordination, contractor liaison, customer data handling, and administrative support linked to operational delivery.
Job Duties:
- Manage reinstatement bookings with contractors
- Open and close permits for scheduled works
- Gather data from customer enquiries and internal sources
- Maintain management data and spreadsheets
- Input work schedules into Solarvista
- Handle customer complaints and escalate where necessary
- Organise and attend joint utility meetings to discuss planned works
- Work closely with Asset Managers and Operational Officers to improve asset information systems
- Liaise with external agencies in line with the organisation’s Data Protection Policy
- Follow established health and safety procedures and comply with internal standards and policies
- Identify and report workplace hazards and participate in risk reviews
- Support the investigation of workplace incidents where required
- Participate in health and safety training and initiatives
- Comply with rehabilitation plans following workplace accidents
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience in a technical or operational support role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Confident in using spreadsheets and work scheduling software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with health and safety responsibilities in a technical or utility setting
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to data management
- Ability to handle sensitive information in line with data protection policies
