Our client is seeking a Graduate Actuarial Trainee to join their Actuarial Department on a permanent, full-time basis, based in the Isle of Man. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly numerate graduate to gain hands-on experience across a broad range of actuarial tasks including pricing, product development, regulatory reporting, liability modelling, and project work. The successful candidate will work as part of a small, supportive team while also developing the ability to work independently.
Job Duties:
- Support external reporting by assisting in the preparation of actuarial valuations to required standards and within agreed deadlines
- Assist with internal financial reporting, including experience investigations
- Develop and maintain actuarial liability models, check data extracts, and maintain documentation
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policy illustration systems
- Provide actuarial support for product development and pricing initiatives
- Assist with project work across various areas of the business as required
Job Requirements:
- A minimum 2:1 honours degree in mathematics or a related subject
- Eligible to join the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (or an equivalent body), or already a student member
- Experience using Excel, including VBA, is desirable
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to technical detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to use initiative appropriately
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports
