Payable Finance Clerk

Our client is seeking a Payables Finance Clerk to join their finance team on a full-time permanent basis, though part-time hours will also be considered. This role is based on-site and supports the Payable Finance Officer in maintaining accurate and verifiable records of the airline’s expenditure streams across all departments.

Job Duties:

  • Process and maintain purchase orders and invoices within the Beanworks system
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure the Beanworks system is accurate and up to date
  • Ensure timely payment of all duly authorised invoices
  • Operate supplier credit control and reconcile supplier statements to the SAGE accounting system
  • Provide regular reports to the team leader and support the wider finance team as needed
  • Ensure all expenditure is captured and reconciled using purchase order procurement processes
  • Maintain up-to-date creditor records and build effective working relationships with creditors
  • Accurately input all expenditure into the purchase order system following delegated authority
  • Validate creditor statements to maintain accurate cashflow reporting
  • Support the generation of monthly reports and reconciliations to meet internal deadlines
  • Contribute to process efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Maintain reconciliations to support financial risk identification and mitigation

Job Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft systems, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, able to use initiative, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible approach to working hours when required
  • Experience in credit control and payables ledger roles (desirable)
  • Experience using SAGE 200 or similar accounting software (desirable)
  • Familiarity with purchase order systems such as Beanworks (desirable)
  • Qualified by experience or a bookkeeping/accounting-related qualification advantageous
  • Minimum Level 2 or 3 education (GCSE/BTEC/A level or equivalent)
  • A current police check will be required
