Our client is seeking a qualified Senior Manager to lead their Client Accounting team in Jersey. This is a full-time, permanent role offering an excellent opportunity to manage the preparation and review of financial statements, cash flows, and management accounts across trust, corporate, and fund structures. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining regulatory compliance, improving processes, and supporting the development of a high-performing team in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
Job Duties:
- Prepare financial statements, management accounts, and cash flows in accordance with applicable law and internal policies
- Oversee the work of the Client Accounting team, ensuring the quality and timeliness of all financial deliverables
- Act as a key contact for clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders
- Maintain access rights and permissions in accounting systems to uphold internal controls
- Configure and update system settings, reporting templates, and chart of accounts
- Lead, coach, and mentor the accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals and client onboarding
- Deliver ad hoc financial projects as required
- Monitor staff performance against key targets and deadlines
- Identify training needs and support staff development initiatives
- Oversee recruitment, absence, performance management, and disciplinary processes with support from HR
- Manage and set KPIs for team members, and act as a representative of the organisation’s values and ethos
Job Requirements:
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
- Minimum 10 years' experience in an accounting role
- Previous experience managing a team in a client accounting function
- Knowledge of NavOne and experience maintaining accounting systems
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Excel skills and general proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in report writing and system configuration
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Developed understanding of accounting principles and client service excellence
