Financial Reporting Accountant

Our client is currently recruiting for a Newly Qualified Accountant to work within the Finance department, specifically in the Financial Reporting workstream. This full-time position is based on the Isle of Man. The Financial Reporting workstream is responsible for the accurate and timely production of financial information, including statutory reporting, regulatory reporting, tax reporting, management reporting (such as expense reporting, management accounts, and board reporting), and plays a central role in audit activity for the group. The successful candidate will ideally have a professional accounting qualification, with a background or exposure to the Isle of Man Financial Services industry, and possess a strong knowledge of audit processes and practices.

Job Duties:

  • Support the Finance Reporting team in producing the Group’s monthly accounting outputs, including the timely preparation of management accounts and management reporting, ensuring control aspects such as reconciliations and reviews are completed.
  • Support the Group’s audit processes.
  • Lead specific pieces of the Group’s statutory, regulatory, and tax reporting processes as directed.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement and development of financial control processes, maintaining the highest standards and ensuring that changes in legal and regulatory requirements are integrated into processes.
  • Engage in ad-hoc work and projects as necessary.
  • Provide support and assistance to the wider finance team.

Job Requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualification.
  • Background or exposure to the Isle of Man Financial Services industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of audit processes and practices.
  • Self-motivated and versatile.
  • Ability to work effectively within a busy and varied Finance team.
  • Team player with skills to provide support at various levels.
