Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Network Controller to oversee the maintenance, operational activities, and capital projects related to the gas distribution network. This role involves ensuring the safe control of operations (SCO) across network assets, maintaining accurate records, and providing technical support to enhance asset integrity and network efficiency. Job Duties:
- Coordinate maintenance tasks and capital projects for network fixed assets, including meters, services, mains, and PRIs.
- Oversee Safe Control of Operations (SCO), ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
- Manage and maintain accurate network records, including Esri ArcGIS, network risk models, and analysis data.
- Liaise with Authorising Engineers and Responsible Engineers to validate contingency plans and individual competencies.
- Record and monitor operational activities, ensuring adherence to SCO protocols.
- Conduct SCO audits, report findings to senior management, and address performance issues.
- Develop, update, and maintain the network risk and analysis models.
- Provide technical support for Asset Information Systems, including CMMS and GIS platforms.
- Assist in developing and reviewing Asset Information Standards and implementing improvement projects.
- Support asset integrity management and provide engineering decisions related to network matters.
- Communicate with internal departments and external agencies in compliance with data protection policies.
- Monitor and control routine operations on the gas distribution network, ensuring minimal disruption to customers.
- Prepare work packages for contractors and oversee their execution.
- Adhere to established health and safety standards and procedures.
- Identify workplace hazards and participate in reviews and investigations of incidents.
- Undertake relevant training and promote a healthy and safe workplace.
- Support rehabilitation plans following workplace incidents as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of gas distribution networks and asset management.
- Proficiency in using GIS tools, particularly Esri ArcGIS, and CMMS platforms.
- Experience in network analysis, risk modeling, and SCO management.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex technical data and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to health and safety standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
