We would recommend that a company uses 3/4 agencies to ensure that a selection of well suited candidates are presented and keeping a span of control.

At what point does an agency charge a recruitment fee?
An agency should only ever charge a fee if a candidate that has been introduced to you by the agency is employed within your company within a certain time frame.

Would implementing a PSL be beneficial to a business?

Yes. A PSL allows you to select the most well suited agencies to provide recruitment services to your business and you can introduce a fixed rate that works with your business and ultimately reduce recruitment costs.

What pre-screening can I expect an agency to undertake for a candidate?
The agencies vary, however Itchyfeet's standard pre-screening includes: proof of ID, proof of address, proof of academic and professional qualifications, references and a basic police clearance.
