Crewing Manager

Our client is seeking a Crewing Manager to oversee daily Human Resources activities within the company's shore and seafaring operations. This role reports directly to the Head of Human Resources and is based in Douglas. The Crewing Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of crew operations for the company’s vessels, ensuring compliance with maritime legislation and certification requirements, and supporting the long-term crewing strategy. Job Duties:

• Manage daily crew operations for the company’s vessels
• Maintain the crewing matrix for each vessel and oversee crew rostering for on-signing and off-signing activities
• Provide support to Human Resources Officers and Line Managers with disciplinary meetings and HR issues
• Develop and manage the long-term crewing strategy
• Ensure compliance with Maritime legislation, including MLC and SMS
• Assist with payroll for seafaring and shore-based personnel
• Control crewing costs and ensure cost efficiency
• Support HR Officers in the recruitment of Officers and Ratings
• Participate in DOC/MLC audits, explaining and demonstrating compliance

Job Requirements:

• Must have Seafaring Operations experience but its also essential they have management experience
• Strong knowledge and experience in the shipping industry
• Minimum of five years' experience within a Marine crewing department
• Good understanding of Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) and Safety Management System (SMS) compliance
• Flexible and adaptable to changing operational demands
• Familiarity with STCW certification requirements and CoC/CeC processes
