Our client is seeking motivated and ambitious trainee associates to join their award-winning legal team. This full-time, two-year training contract offers a unique opportunity to develop a commercial and strategic mindset as a lawyer within the firm. Trainees will work across various departments, gaining hands-on experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters, while receiving tailored support and mentoring for the Manx Bar Examinations.
Job Duties:
- Spend time in various departments to gain experience in different legal practice areas
- Assist with drafting a variety of correspondence, including instructions to counsel, witness statements, and settlement negotiations
- Take minutes during meetings and conduct legal research
- Support senior lawyers in managing and resolving complex legal and business issues
- Participate in negotiations and help prepare case documentation for court or client presentations
- Receive mentoring and guidance from experienced lawyers and partners
- Complete the required training and professional development activities necessary for the Manx Bar Examinations
- Contribute to the efficient delivery of legal services to clients
Job Requirements:
- Strong academic background with excellent interpersonal skills
- Recent graduates from commonwealth jurisdictions are encouraged to apply
- Paralegal experience, including work with both contentious and non-contentious matters, is advantageous
- Confidence, technical strength, and a keen interest in pursuing a long-term career in law
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
