Our client is seeking an Auditor to join the Audit & Assurance department, reporting to the Supervisor/Assistant Manager. The principal responsibility of the Auditor is to carry out audit tasks as required, ensuring a consistently high standard of service. This is a full-time position.
Job Duties:
- Have a working knowledge of and apply the business audit methodology.
- Ensure the work performed is clearly documented and communicated on the audit file.
- Develop an awareness of other service lines.
- Use Pro-audit to perform audit tasks.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge and application of accounting standards (IFRS/ UKGAAP).
- Demonstrate practical awareness and application of auditing standards (ISA's).
- Seek an understanding of professional standards not previously encountered.
- Identify technical issues and seek assistance to resolve them.
- Meet client needs by acting with urgency, practicality, and integrity.
- Develop good working relationships with relevant client personnel.
- Use client time efficiently without duplicating queries.
- Implement high standards of quality for service performance.
- Seek to develop external contacts through client work and personal network.
- Actively request direct feedback on performance from Senior or Supervisor.
- Participate in the firm's performance management process.
- Complete assigned tasks and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
- Notify Supervisor of any deviations from budgeted work in a timely fashion.
- Set own targets and communicate them to the rest of the audit team.
- Operate daily within the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Understand how departmental procedures, documents, and record keeping can affect the ISO 9001 Quality Management System positively or negatively.
- Stay informed about audit and accounting developments.
- Understand and adhere to the firm’s policies and procedures in daily working practice.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities by being aware of other service lines.
- Operate effectively in a fast-changing environment.
- Undertake any other tasks as required by the Senior Audit team.
Job Requirements:
- Be studying towards an appropriate accountancy qualification (examination passes determine grade 1 – 6).
- Have at least 1 year’s experience in an audit environment.
- Demonstrate strong presentation skills.
- Be PC literate, particularly with Excel and Word.
