Communications Specialist

Our client currently has a permanent position available within their Communications Team for a Communications Specialist. This role covers a large variety of areas within the Communications team, with a particular focus on the creation and delivery of internal and external communications and content. The post-holder will generate ideas and write content including corporate news releases, placed articles, staff communications, customer-facing communications, and digital advertising content. Working closely with the Communications Lead, they will support both internal and external communications for the Executive Team and colleague messaging. The successful candidate will report to the Communications Lead and will be responsible for delivering communication strategies that resonate with both internal stakeholders and external audiences. This position offers a dynamic working environment where creativity and communication skills can flourish.

Job Duties:

  • Write and produce online and offline external content.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar for both internal and external communications.
  • Alongside the Communications Lead, support Executive Team communications including internal blogs and colleague messaging.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting awards applications.
  • Edit the staff newsletter.
  • Serve as a point of contact for external media inquiries alongside the Communications Lead.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry and local journalists.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a communications-related role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to work to deadlines effectively.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • A full driving licence is required.
  • A relevant degree or communications-linked qualification would be preferable.
