Advocate

This role involves joining a well-established and respected Isle of Man law firm based in Douglas. The position is open to advocates of varying experience levels across any area of legal practice. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of legal matters while providing exceptional service to clients. This position allows for the development of existing practices, the broadening of experience, and the chance to contribute to a growing and progressive legal environment. Advocates will be actively involved in advising clients, managing relationships, and providing practical legal solutions. Furthermore, they will represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings where appropriate, ensuring the delivery of clear and commercially focused legal advice.

Job Duties:

  • Advising clients on a wide range of legal matters
  • Managing client relationships and providing practical legal solutions
  • Representing clients in negotiations, meetings, and court proceedings where appropriate
  • Providing clear and commercially focused legal advice
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal opinions
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm
  • Contributing to the continued development of client relationships and the firm’s practice areas
  • Managing matters efficiently whilst maintaining high standards of client care

Job Requirements:

  • Qualified Advocate or Solicitor eligible for admission as an Isle of Man Advocate
  • Experience in any area of legal practice will be considered
  • Strong technical and legal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Professional, proactive and collaborative approach
  • Preference will be given to candidates currently resident in the Isle of Man
