Legal Secretary

Our client, a firm known for providing the “personal touch” and high-quality service, is seeking a fully experienced Legal Secretary with 5 to 10+ years of professional expertise. The role is full-time, working from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday. The successful candidate will have strong experience in legal administrative duties and be comfortable working with overseas clients and colleagues, ensuring smooth and efficient support within the legal department. The firm prides itself on the commitment, skill, and expertise of its staff. They have built long-lasting relationships with clients across the Isle of Man, the UK, and abroad, offering a full range of legal services. These services include Wills, Probate, Private Client, Conveyancing, Family Law, Mental Health, Crime, Commercial and Civil Litigation (including Personal Injury and Medical Negligence), Notarial and Commissioner services, as well as Commercial matters. Job Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the legal team.
  • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
  • Manage diaries, organise meetings, and schedule appointments.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, ensuring effective communication.
  • Liaise with overseas colleagues and clients, ensuring efficient information flow.
  • Prepare legal bundles, manage case files, and organise document storage.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Assist with any additional administrative tasks as needed.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 5 to 10+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary.
  • Proficient in drafting and managing legal documents.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working with overseas colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software systems.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
