Our client is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join their Group Risk, Legal, and Compliance team as Head of Compliance. This permanent role reports to the Group Chief Compliance Officer and will support and embed the regulatory risk framework across the business. The successful candidate will hold controlled function roles as Head of Compliance for RL360 Insurance Company and RL360 Life Insurance Company. This role is suited to an individual with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, a keen interest in protecting the business, and the ability to influence compliance culture at all levels. The Head of Compliance will be responsible for identifying and managing regulatory compliance risks, ensuring legal and regulatory obligations are met, and fostering a proactive compliance environment.
Job Duties:
- Identify and manage regulatory compliance risks across the business.
- Ensure legal and regulatory obligations are understood and adhered to.
- Develop and implement compliance strategies, policies, procedures, and training programmes.
- Foster a strong compliance culture throughout the organisation.
- Engage proactively with senior stakeholders, including the Executive and Board members.
- Conduct compliance assurance reviews and monitoring activities.
- Oversee the implementation of regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Represent the company at trade body committees and government forums.
- Support business growth and change by advising on regulatory risk.
- Mentor and develop colleagues to enhance succession planning, expertise, and team resilience.
Job Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of customer, risk, and financial drivers within the life and investment sector.
- Relevant professional qualifications or extensive experience in a key compliance role.
- Broad commercial experience with a deep understanding of financial services regulations and legislation.
- Proven experience conducting compliance assurance reviews and monitoring.
- Experience leading regulatory change initiatives.
- Sound understanding of regulatory risks from both technical and operational perspectives.
- Experience working in a multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Ability to navigate and support a business undergoing continuous growth and transformation.
- Track record of providing timely and credible subject matter expertise.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions is desirable.
