Our client is seeking a Dealing Technician to join their Investment Operations Department on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role within the Portfolio Bond Dealing Team, contributing to the placement of over 100,000 trades annually, totalling over £3 billion. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, ensuring all transactions are processed within service level agreements. Reporting to the Dealing Manager, the role involves processing high-value trades, investigating errors, handling complex enquiries, and providing guidance and training to colleagues.
Job Duties:
- Process high-value and high-risk dealing instructions across various asset types for personalised portfolio bonds, ensuring accuracy and adherence to service standards.
- Investigate and analyse dealing errors, recommending process or control improvements.
- Handle complex and technical dealing-related enquiries.
- Provide training to new team members and act as a mentor throughout their development.
- Accurately authorise trades up to a value of £500k.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for investment-related tasks, providing guidance to colleagues and supporting internal and external audits.
- Manage and maintain system controls and regional dealing rules to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Produce management information (MI) for senior management committees as required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a dealing or investments-based role, ideally within the life assurance industry.
- Strong understanding of investments.
- 5 GCSEs (grades A-C) or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven ability to work to deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Hold or be working towards the CISI Introduction to Securities & Investments or IOC qualification.
