Our client is seeking a driven and ambitious individual to join their team as a Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) Trainee. This role is ideal for someone determined to study and complete the challenging CAT qualification. Prior office experience is an advantage, and candidates should be committed to learning and achieving the qualification. The role is based in Douglas, Isle of Man, with the opportunity to gain experience across the general accountancy practice and corporate service provider.
Job Duties:
- Work as part of a small team and report directly to a Manager or senior trainee/administrator.
- Perform trust and company administration duties, including direct client contact.
- Liaise with third-party institutions such as banks, brokers, and rental agents.
- Bookkeeping and inputting client records.
- Prepare accounting schedules and accounts files.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and investment schedules.
- Prepare management information for clients.
- Prepare personal and corporate tax computations and returns, including VAT.
- Handle filing and general office duties as required.
- Prepare meeting packs with supporting schedules.
- Assist Managers and Partners with various tasks, including compliance requirements.
- Provide cover for other team members and assist with setting up payments and preparing wage slips and year-end employer returns.

- Strong communicator with good organisational skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on responsibility.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Prior office experience is an advantage.
- Discretion, diplomacy, and a confident approach are essential.
