Our client is seeking a Compliance Officer to support the Head of Risk & Compliance – Isle of Man in monitoring, advising, training, and reporting on compliance and risk matters. This role will focus on ensuring regulatory compliance across the legal, fiduciary, and corporate services businesses in the Isle of Man, with potential oversight of group entities in other jurisdictions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
Job Duties:
- Conduct compliance monitoring of licensing requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal policies.
- Assist in maintaining and updating the local compliance monitoring plan, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.
- Maintain and update compliance procedures and registers to manage compliance risks effectively.
- Ensure timely regulatory returns and notifications, including data protection compliance.
- Attend quarterly jurisdictional Risk & Compliance Committee meetings.
- Provide training on AML/CTF and regulatory requirements to staff.
- Support the promotion of a strong compliance and risk awareness culture.
Job Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent in Business, Finance, Law, or Compliance and Risk Management.
- 1–2 years' relevant experience in the Corporate and Trust Services or Financial Services industry, ideally within compliance, audit, or legal functions.
- Knowledge of the Isle of Man financial industry and regulatory framework.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Organised and able to manage a busy workload autonomously.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to compliance and risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
