Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Investment Management team in Jersey. This role is responsible for driving new business and growing assets under management (AUM) within the investment management proposition. The successful candidate will play a key role in the discretionary business development strategy, building strong relationships with trustees, advisors, and institutional clients, both locally and internationally.
Job Duties:
- Drive AUM growth in investment products and services delivered through the Jersey and Isle of Man investment management teams
- Contribute to the discretionary business development strategy
- Prepare and present investment proposals for new and existing clients using risk profiling tools
- Actively network both locally and internationally, including travel to key markets, to build relationships and enhance the company’s reputation
- Establish partnerships with key advisors and institutional clients, identifying potential business opportunities
- Host face-to-face and virtual meetings, seminars, webinars, and events
- Provide demonstrations of investment management products and systems to clients, trustees, and advisors
- Meet or exceed sales targets and agreed objectives
- Work closely with the Investment Management team to ensure strong client relationships are built and maintained
- Support business development-focused social media activity, including writing investment-related content
- Maintain a strong understanding of risk management and compliance processes relevant to business development activities
- Generate new business initiatives and explore cross-selling opportunities across the organisation
- Represent the company with integrity in all client interactions and external engagements
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in successful business development within a discretionary investment business
- Existing network of professional contacts in the financial advisory and/or fiduciary sectors, particularly in Jersey and other relevant jurisdictions
- Strong technical knowledge of funds, investments, and ESG/sustainable investments
- Relevant finance or investment qualification
- Excellent presentation skills, with experience delivering to both small and large audiences
- Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and global markets
- Confident, proactive, and ambitious with strong relationship-building skills
