Our client is seeking an Audit Manager to oversee a portfolio of clients and ensure the highest standards of service delivery. The successful candidate will manage a team of Audit Seniors and Auditors, working closely with the Audit Director to complete all aspects of the audit process. This role involves technical review, coaching team members, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm standards. This position is open to Jersey residents who are interested in relocating to Madeira.
Job Duties:
- Manage a team of Audit Seniors and Auditors, ensuring effective communication with the Audit Directors
- Oversee and review statutory annual reports and financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
- Complete audit file reviews in CCH up to the manager review stage
- Coach and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning
- Manage client relationships, overseeing take-on procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in office systems such as CCH
- Ensure all deadlines are met, maintaining high technical standards in all work
- Attend board meetings as an observer to gain insight into corporate governance frameworks
- Work alongside Audit Managers across different jurisdictions to ensure consistency in approach
- Lead key projects related to software, audit methodology, and business efficiency as required
Job Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) or a relevant professional qualification (CGI/STEP Diploma or equivalent)
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience in people management, with strong leadership and coaching skills
- Strong client focus, with the ability to deliver a high-quality service and maintain client satisfaction
- Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify business opportunities and manage risk
- Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative approach to team management
