Our client is seeking a Senior Compliance Administrator and Data Protection Officer to join their Isle of Man office on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role is integral in supporting regulatory and legislative adherence across the business, maintaining a strong internal control framework, and promoting best practice guidance. The position also involves full responsibility for data protection matters, with the opportunity to progress into a DMLRO and, in time, MLRO role.
Job Duties:
- Provide compliance and data protection guidance to internal staff
- Develop, implement and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and risk assessments
- Manage and respond to data subject requests (e.g. access, rectification, deletion)
- Train employees on data protection policies and practices
- Act as the primary contact for data protection issues with regulatory authorities
- Ensure timely reporting and handling of data breaches
- Conduct regular data protection audits and monitor related risks
- Perform risk cycle file reviews
- Review KYC/CDD documentation for individuals and entities related to client structures
- Conduct screening checks and internet searches on relevant parties
- Ensure compliance of KYC/CDD with internal policy and legal/regulatory standards
- Carry out PEP screening and enhanced due diligence where required
- Assist with drafting policies, procedures, and internal audit activities
- Support with new business screening processes
- Promote a positive culture of governance and compliance throughout the business
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of five GCSEs (grades A–C / 4–9), including Maths and English
- Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience in compliance and the regulatory environment
- Familiarity with offshore trust and corporate structures
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Interest in ongoing professional development, ideally working towards ICA accreditation
- High levels of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
- Ability to initiate and manage projects independently
