Our client is seeking an IT System Administrator to join their Service Desk team, providing day-to-day support and administration for client systems. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, deploying software, managing system security, and ensuring optimal system performance. The position is based primarily on-site and requires strong IT expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent client communication.
Job Duties:
- Deploy software, create user groups, and manage operating system policies across client networks.
- Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, network, and application components.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve software, hardware, and networking issues.
- Ensure secure storage, backup, and retrieval of data.
- Upgrade and replace outdated or defective hardware.
- Identify and implement strategies for optimal system performance.
- Enforce security best practices to prevent cyber threats and security breaches.
- Document internal processes and contribute to the internal knowledge base.
- Respond to client tickets promptly and accurately.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
- Maintain accurate timesheets.
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within an IT department or consultancy.
- At least 1 year of experience in networking and Microsoft Windows Server administration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Workstation.
- Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Experience with cloud service providers such as Azure or AWS is desirable.
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
