Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Relationship Manager to join their banking operations on a permanent, full-time basis. This pivotal role is responsible for driving sustainable business growth through effective, customer-focused, and risk-aware relationship management, with a particular emphasis on lending. The position serves as the primary contact for clients and intermediaries, ensuring seamless interaction across brokers, lawyers, and valuers. It also supports business development initiatives locally and internationally, working closely with the Head of Banking and internal departments to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Deliver exceptional relationship management to existing and prospective banking clients, supporting general and lending business growth
- Act as key contact for brokers, valuers, and lawyers in the Isle of Man and UK
- Conduct thorough client assessments, including AML, CFT, PF and credit risk evaluations
- Collaborate with the Risk and Compliance teams to ensure robust risk assessments for all clients
- Support the planning and execution of client hospitality and networking events
- Represent the bank at external events and undertake domestic and international business development trips
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of business development plans, marketing content, and management information reports
- Monitor lending administration, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance at all times
- Contribute to operational improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency across banking services
- Support the Head of Banking and Loan Officers with client onboarding and loan-related matters
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in banking or financial services, with proven relationship management and lending expertise
- Strong technical knowledge of banking products, lending processes, and associated risks
- Sound understanding of business banking risk and compliance practices
- Minimum GCSE/O Level or equivalent, including Mathematics and English; a relevant professional qualification is preferred
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Analytical mindset with a risk-based approach to client evaluation and monitoring
- Self-confident with the ability to lead and escalate concerns when necessary
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented, with a collaborative working style and focus on shared goals
