People Advisor

Our client is seeking a proactive People Advisor to join their People team in either Guernsey or Jersey. This is a full-time, permanent position that plays a key role in supporting the entire employee lifecycle while contributing to the delivery of the wider People strategy. Working closely with the Chief People Officer and People Business Partners, you will provide expert HR guidance, drive employee engagement initiatives, and help shape a values-led, high-performing culture. Occasional travel between islands may be required.

Job Duties:

  • Provide first-line expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR matters including performance, conduct, absence, recruitment, and employee relations
  • Support the complete employee lifecycle including onboarding, contractual changes, and leaver processes
  • Assist in developing and implementing People policies, procedures and frameworks aligned with business objectives
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of training and development initiatives, including assessing training needs
  • Support recruitment activities including job postings, candidate sourcing, and onboarding administration
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all People-related meetings and case management
  • Collaborate with the People Operations team on day-to-day HR activities and support continuous improvement projects
  • Provide administrative support to the Chief People Officer and People Business Partners as needed

Job Requirements:

  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management
  • Experience within a People or HR team with involvement across the full employee lifecycle
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coach and influence stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of generalist HR practices and employment legislation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong working relationships at all levels
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification (desirable)
  • Previous HR advisory experience, preferably in financial services (desirable)
  • Familiarity with HR systems and continuous improvement methodologies (desirable)
