Temporary Customer Service Advisor

Our client is seeking a temporary Customer Service Adviser to join their Customer Experience department. This role is open to both full-time and part-time applicants, with flexible working arrangements available for the duration of the contract. Working hours will be scheduled on a rota that includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. You will play a key role in delivering an outstanding experience to customers, handling queries, faults, and service requests over the phone and online, while promoting products and ensuring customer needs are met in a friendly, efficient manner.

Job Duties:

  • Serve as a single point of contact for customers via inbound and outbound calls and online channels
  • Provide first-line support for technical and general enquiries, along with service and sales assistance
  • Offer accurate and articulate information about products and services including fibre, broadband, mobile, and promotions
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by resolving queries efficiently and advising on suitable solutions
  • Ensure customer interactions are completed with clarity around next steps and expectations
  • Log and troubleshoot faults, aiming to deliver first-contact resolution or initiate appropriate processes
  • Process customer orders accurately to support internal workflows and timely service delivery
  • Carry out routine administration such as customer registrations, data maintenance, and reporting
  • Uphold client values in all customer interactions to foster strong and lasting relationships
  • Report major service issues promptly to the engineering and product teams
  • Comply with data protection, regulatory requirements, and health and safety standards
  • Participate in security awareness training and follow incident reporting protocols
  • Maintain a high level of discretion, especially when handling sensitive or confidential data

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a customer-facing role with strong empathy and a commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Excellent telephone manner and listening skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Self-motivated and solution-oriented, with the ability to see issues through to resolution
  • Comfortable working independently or collaboratively, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Well organised, accurate, and quality-focused in all aspects of work
  • Interest in technology and willingness to learn new skills
  • Smart appearance and commitment to upholding high standards of service
  • Experience in a technical support or sales role is advantageous
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications industry is beneficial
  • Ability to use initiative and handle a wide range of problems
  • Optimistic, cheerful attitude and calm under pressure
