Payroll Administrator

Our client is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves processing client timesheets, invoices, and expenses, allocating funds from agencies to client accounts, and managing payroll operations to ensure all deductions are correctly calculated and applied. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, submitting pension files to providers, and responding to payroll queries within agreed service levels.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and process timesheets, invoices, and expenses for clients
  • Allocate incoming agency funds to the appropriate client accounts
  • Manage the full payroll process, ensuring accurate deductions for tax, pensions, and statutory contributions
  • Maintain and update client payroll records in a timely manner
  • Submit pension files regularly to pension providers
  • Respond to payroll-related queries via phone and email in line with service level agreements
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy in all data entry and reconciliation tasks
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively, escalating when necessary
  • Manage a high-volume workload while meeting tight deadlines
  • Operate independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in contractor payroll
  • Solid understanding of UK tax regulations, statutory deductions, and pension contributions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
  • Excellent numerical, organisational, and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex data accurately
  • Comfortable using multiple systems to resolve queries and manage processes
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to prioritise tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Positive, proactive, and self-motivated approach
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a growing business environment
