Our client is seeking a Compliance Supervision Executive to undertake AML/CFT supervisory inspections for member practices registered under the Designated Business (Registration and Oversight) Act 2015. This pivotal role involves ensuring compliance with the rules and regulations of the Isle of Man, thereby playing a crucial part in safeguarding the integrity of the local financial sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive understanding of evolving legislation and providing support and guidance to industry members. This role may be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, with a flexible schedule available to accommodate varying needs.
Job Duties:
- Maintain an up-to-date and working knowledge of the Island’s AML/CFT legislation and codes framework.
- Collaborate with team members to draft, maintain, and deliver the AML/CFT Supervisory Inspection Programme, alongside all supporting documentation and related reports.
- Manage the administrative requirements of scheduling and delivering AML/CFT Supervisory Inspections.
- Ensure thorough familiarisation with the status of each practice, the nature of services provided, and their client base to effectively apply a risk-based approach to supervision.
- Establish a regulatory and support relationship with the MLROs of each practice, maintaining effective communication channels with this group.
- Assist team members with identifying suitably qualified speakers/trainers for the Society’s annual AML/CFT Masterclass for members.
- Work with team members to identify and customise annual online AML/CFT training modules for all employees in Advocates Practices.
- Respond to calls and emails from the AML/CFT Helpline, providing support to the members.
- Maintain an advisory log to identify key themes for the profession.
- Assist team members in hosting quarterly compliance coffee hours.
- Draft compliance content for the Society’s weekly email.
- Assist with compiling evidence and written reports for the purpose of sanction or enforcement action.
- Provide training and supervision to junior members of staff when required.
- Draft procedures as needed.
- Carry out general office administrative duties, including assisting and covering when team members are on leave.
Job Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of AML/CFT legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in compliance supervision or a related field in a professional services environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to establish relationships with MLROs and staff.
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support junior staff when required.
- Proficient in drafting reports and training materials.
