Senior Compliance Officer

Our client is a leading independent offshore law firm with a reputation for delivering high-quality work to meet the expectations of the global market. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Officer to join their team on a full-time basis. This essential role involves shaping and strengthening the Group’s risk and compliance framework, where the successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance. Key responsibilities include leading client due diligence reviews, supporting assurance and monitoring activities, and providing clear compliance advice to colleagues throughout the business.

Job Duties:

  • Contribute to the identification, management, and mitigation of compliance and financial crime risks.
  • Support the effective operation and development of the Group’s risk and compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements and operational processes, fostering robust governance and control.
  • Provide advanced administrative and technical compliance support, helping to establish a strong culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability.

Job Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in a compliance risk or internal audit role within a regulated financial services firm (ideally Class 4 and 5).
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, beneficial ownership, and corporate structures.
  • Experience reviewing Enhanced Due Diligence, complex corporate/trust structures, and assessing cross-border risk.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. ICA, CAMS, ICSA) or commitment to study.
  • Experience of file review and compliance monitoring methodologies, interest in ongoing professional development and career progression, ability to initiate and manage projects independently, and curiosity to engage with new technologies and processes.
