Manager (ACA/ACCA qualified)

Our client is an independent Chartered Accountancy practice located in Douglas, Isle of Man, offering bespoke financial and accounting solutions to both Isle of Man and international clients. They also provide fiduciary services through a licensed trust service provider, catering to a global clientele. The role of Manager has become available within their busy general accountancy practice and corporate service provider. The position calls for a qualified ACA or ACCA individual with proven experience in practice, strong communication abilities, and effective organisational skills, who can lead and mentor junior staff. A confident approach, discretion, and diplomacy are essential, as well as the capacity to manage competing priorities and deliver results within deadlines. Job Duties:

  • Oversee a small team and report directly to a Director.
  • Manage an individual portfolio of clients, providing face-to-face support.
  • Handle all aspects of client relationships and engagements.
  • Ensure timely preparation of financial statements and supervise taxation and VAT returns and assessments.
  • Administer a diverse range of companies, tailoring solutions to each client’s needs.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Director concerning client matters.
  • Review and coordinate work assignments for junior staff, offering assistance and training.
  • Participate in internal planning meetings to align client service requirements.
  • Conduct appraisals and bi-monthly performance reviews for team members.
  • Ensure compliance adherence for all clients by collaborating with the Compliance team.
  • Build professional connections with industry stakeholders, including bankers, investment advisors, and legal professionals.
  • Attend networking events to strengthen these relationships.
  • Uphold a professional demeanour at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with training in practice.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
  • Strong discretion and diplomatic skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commercial awareness with a client-focused mindset.
