Head of Compliance / MLRO

Our client is seeking a Head of Compliance/MLRO to enhance their regulatory and compliance framework. This pivotal role will be responsible for managing compliance risk and ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards within the financial services sector. The successful candidate will lead the compliance team, developing robust policies and procedures to safeguard the organisation. The Head of Compliance/MLRO will also act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, ensuring vigilance against financial crime and conducting necessary assessments. This full-time position is vital in fostering a culture of compliance and ethical practices across the organisation. The successful applicant will play a critical role in liaising with regulatory bodies and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the compliance team, ensuring effective training and development of staff.
  • Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, overseeing AML policies and procedures.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and audits to identify areas of improvement.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and contribute to responses for regulatory inquiries.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the organisation’s policies are up-to-date.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on compliance matters.

Job Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a compliance role within the financial services sector.
  • Proven track record in managing compliance and regulatory risks.
  • Strong knowledge of UK compliance regulations, including AML and FCA rules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret complex regulations and provide clear guidance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in compliance or related fields.
