Our client is a leading team in Superyacht management, based in Guernsey, seeking an Assistant Crewing Manager to oversee a portfolio of crewing clients. This role involves supporting the Crewing Manager with day-to-day administration relating to crew employment and payroll functions. The Assistant Crewing Manager will also be tasked with assisting in the training of junior team members, checking and approving work, and may require travel to meet existing clients when necessary. The position demands excellent organisational skills and a strong understanding of seafarer employment law. This is a full-time position, with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of service and compliance within the industry.
Job Duties:
- Undertake all day-to-day client administration to ensure timely completion of crew employment and payroll tasks
- Maintain crew records and vessel data efficiently
- Prepare reports and records as required
- Assist the Crewing Manager by covering yacht administration during absences and resolving more technical team queries
- Draft and finalise crew employment contracts and relevant documentation
- Liaise with other internal departments for smooth and timely crew payments
- Ensure compliance with Flag State and STCW requirements, including pre-employment checks and qualification monitoring
- Coordinate crew travel requirements when necessary
- Process Flag State documents and supporting documentation for visa applications
- Liaise with yacht owners to prepare monthly wage calculations and ensure timely fund receipts for crew payments
- Arrange payments to crew through payroll software and online banking, approving payments as required
- Assist with crew-related projects as needed
- Engage in travel to meet clients where business cases require, to build strong relationships
- Liaise with the internal finance team regarding all crewing-related accounts and payments
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required
