Our client is seeking a Deputy Client Accounting Manager to support the Client Accounting Manager in delivering high-quality financial reporting and accounting services for a diverse portfolio of trusts, companies, and other client structures across multiple jurisdictions, including the Isle of Man, Guernsey, the United Kingdom, and the British Virgin Islands. This is a full-time position based in the Isle of Man, and the salary is dependent on experience. The role encompasses the preparation and review of financial statements, management accounts, tax filings, and regulatory submissions. Additionally, the Deputy Manager will provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including client relationship managers and auditors, to guarantee the integrity of financial processes. This position also involves identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Job Duties:
- Assist the Client Accounting Manager with the day-to-day management of a team of Client Accountants, including workload allocation, mentoring, and performance support.
- Prepare and review annual financial statements for trusts, companies, and other client entities in accordance with UK GAAP or other required accounting standards.
- Prepare and submit tax filings, VAT returns, and other statutory submissions for jurisdictions including the Isle of Man, Guernsey, and the UK.
- Ensure accuracy of general ledgers through reconciliation of bank accounts, investment portfolios, accruals, and intercompany balances.
- Collaborate closely with Client Relationship Managers and the Administration Team to gather information and resolve queries.
- Liaise with clients, auditors, and tax advisors to support audit processes and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
- Support compliance and risk management efforts by maintaining accurate financial records aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Prepare management accounts, cashflow summaries, and financial analysis for clients as required.
- Identify, recommend, and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance to junior and senior accountants, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Job Requirements:
- Professional qualification (ACCA preferred) with at least five years post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, particularly UK GAAP, and familiarity with offshore trust and corporate structures.
- Extensive experience of client investment portfolios and the relevant accounting and tax treatment.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Desirable: Experience working within multiple jurisdictions, ideally including the Isle of Man, Guernsey, the UK, and the BVI.
- Competence with fiduciary and accounting systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Quantios).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a small accounting team.
