Temporary Graphic Designer - 7 months

Our client is seeking a creative, detail-driven Graphic Designer to join their talented in-house design team on a temporary basis for a period of 7 months. This exciting opportunity lies at the heart of the firm’s communications, allowing you to contribute to high-quality content that impacts real audiences across the Isle of Man. You will be part of a small design team responsible for delivering professional, audience-focused communications. Your role will encompass designing a variety of visual content for both digital and print formats, ensuring the alignment with brand guidelines is maintained throughout. This position offers invaluable experience in a fast-paced environment, where your contributions will support important public messaging. You will work alongside experienced colleagues and communication partners to bring creative ideas to life while managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines. The ability to adapt your designs for different platforms and audiences is key, along with a strong eye for detail and a passion for visual communication.

Job Duties:

  • Designing and producing visual content for digital channels (social media, web, and email) and traditional formats (print and display materials)
  • Developing assets that align with brand guidelines and style guides
  • Managing and organising digital asset libraries for easy retrieval of files
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand briefs and bring creative ideas to reality
  • Adapting content for various platforms, formats, and audiences
  • Supporting quality assurance to ensure all outputs meet accessibility standards before publication or distribution
  • Managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a busy environment

Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, or equivalent design tools
  • Ability to work on Apple Mac systems
  • A strong eye for layout, typography, and visual communication
  • Solid understanding of digital and print production processes
  • Capability to follow and consistently apply brand guidelines across various outputs
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
  • Experience in a public sector or agency environment is desirable
  • Familiarity with accessibility requirements for digital communications, such as colour contrast standards and alt text
  • Skills in motion graphics or video editing would be advantageous
