Finance Assistant

Our client is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their Group Finance team, providing essential support for various financial operations. The role is full-time, requiring 37.5 hours per week. The Finance Assistant will be tasked with maintaining accurate financial records and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. This includes processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers. The successful candidate will collaborate with the team to achieve departmental goals and provide insights into financial operations. Additionally, there may be opportunities to engage in both internal and external training for professional development. The role fosters a collaborative and supportive work environment that values innovation and proactive communication.

Job Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including processing and recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets and income statements, in addition to other financial reports and KPIs.
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage supplier invoices within accounting software and arrange for settlement.
  • Create and update expense reports, process reimbursement forms, maintain ledgers, and liaise with budget managers.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and report to the Finance Manager.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and provide general administrative support to the Group Finance team.
  • Actively contribute in team meetings and embrace the cultural values of the client while providing valuable insights.
  • Collaborate with the team to support the implementation of the client’s strategy from a finance perspective.
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks as requested.

Job Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • Previous office experience is advantageous.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be beneficial.
  • External and internal training will be supported and encouraged.
