Job Duties:
- Provide sound, quality technical advice and guidance to clients.
- Work independently and as part of a wider team, effectively managing files with minimal input from partners or other senior fee earners.
- Take responsibility for day-to-day matter management, re-prioritising tasks to meet client and partner expectations.
- Establish and be recognised by others in an area of expertise, acting as a key point of contact for clients.
- Manage financial responsibilities in line with policies and procedures including time recording, billing, work in progress, and debt recovery.
- Ensure clients are fully informed about the fees and disbursements incurred on each matter, providing updates as required.
- Accountable for coaching and developing junior members of staff, including supervising trainees when necessary.
- Identify and pursue peer-to-peer business development opportunities, along with opportunities for cross referrals.
Job Requirements:
- Qualified Lawyer with typically 5+ years of post-qualified experience (PQE) and an excellent academic background, including a 2:1 degree and a commendation/distinction at LPC (or equivalent).
- Experience in a relevant law firm environment, ideally within a Magic/Silver Circle firm (or equivalent), with proven performance over the last two financial years; prior Jersey experience is ideal but not essential.
- Excellent drafting and written communication skills.
- Development of the highest standards of professional knowledge and ability.
- Proactive contribution to the development of know-how, including precedents, practice notes, and publications.
- Ability to establish, build, and maintain relationships with external contacts.
- Prepare for and attend business development meetings to achieve positive outcomes.
- Prepare and present training seminars internally and externally as required, adopting a positive approach to change.
- Promote teamwork and strong relationships with immediate team members and other teams across jurisdictions and Business Services to achieve personal, team, and group objectives.
