Business Assurance Manager, Business Control Unit

Our client is seeking a Business Assurance Manager for their Business Control Unit, located in the Isle of Man. This role is a full-time position, playing a critical part in ensuring that operations within the organisation comply with all regulations through rigorous monitoring and control processes. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing and controlling risk exposure, particularly relating to Operational and Anti-Money Laundering risks. This position requires a proactive individual who will implement procedures to minimise risks to the organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial services regulations and will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure legal and statutory compliance. The role presents an excellent opportunity to engage with a variety of teams while contributing significantly to the overall success of the Business Control Unit.

Job Duties:

  • Act as a point of escalation for complex matters raised by junior employees to ensure issues are efficiently managed and resolved.
  • Complete the Risk and Control Self-Assessment for processes within the organisation, including control checks and key risk indicators.
  • Deliver timely advice on compliance and regulatory issues; liaise with Compliance, Operational Risk, and senior management to ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks.
  • Facilitate and oversee operational assurance test plans covering key business areas.
  • Identify areas for improvement through the analysis of incidents, breaches, complaints, and audit and compliance review findings.
  • Ensure the organisation has the appropriate methodologies, processes, and tools to manage risk exposure effectively.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification of a Diploma in Risk Management (required).
  • First Degree in Corporate Governance and Risk Management (preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in offshore financial services.
  • An appropriate diploma in compliance, governance, and risk-related fields.
  • Thorough understanding of financial services regulations and associated risks.
  • Experience in developing and implementing risk mitigation plans.
