Our client is seeking a Compliance Officer to support and enhance their Compliance Monitoring Programme. The Compliance Officer will play a vital role in ensuring robust regulatory standards while working closely with stakeholders across the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining compliance with applicable local laws, regulations, and internal policies while providing assurance to senior stakeholders, reinforcing a culture of compliance throughout the business.
Job Duties:
- Support the delivery and ongoing maintenance of the Compliance Monitoring Programme
- Ensure compliance with applicable local laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Provide assurance to senior stakeholders, including the Head of Compliance and Board, on the effectiveness of controls
- Review, assess, and document compliance monitoring findings accurately
- Escalate significant issues and track corrective actions through to resolution
- Contribute to Management Information (MI) and Board-level reporting
- Recommend practical improvements based on findings, including additional training or enhanced controls
- Act as an approachable compliance partner to the business, supporting understanding of regulatory requirements
- Promote a positive compliance culture across the organisation
- Support time-critical compliance tasks, including regulatory returns and maintenance of compliance registers
- Ensure compliance testing remains relevant and aligned with current systems and regulatory expectations
- Contribute to the wider strategy of the Isle of Man business and the broader group
Job Requirements:
- Experience supporting or delivering a Compliance Monitoring Programme
- Strong understanding of the Isle of Man regulatory framework and international compliance standards
- Experience within the TCSP sector is advantageous, though not essential
- Ability to adapt to regulatory changes and apply best practices pragmatically
- Strong written communication skills, particularly in drafting clear and concise reports
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident communicator, capable of discussing findings constructively and collaborating on solutions
- Comfortable building relationships across all levels of the business
- Self-motivated, proactive, and disciplined in managing multiple priorities
- Working towards or holding a relevant compliance qualification, or possessing significant experience in a compliance role
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
