Client Accountant

Our client is seeking a Client Accountant to provide comprehensive accounting and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of clients. This role is expected to deliver periodic financial reports in alignment with relevant accounting standards while offering assistance and guidance on various accounting matters. The successful candidate will interact with stakeholders, external accountants, and auditors as required. Job Duties:

  • Manage the recording of financial information and preparation of financial statements for an allocated portfolio of entities, ensuring timely completion in accordance with jurisdictional accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate client ledgers, ensuring all transactions are aligned with source documentation, particularly for complex and multi-currency transactions on the accounting software.
  • Keep up-to-date accounting records, paying particular attention to bank statements, agreements, invoices, contracts, and other signed documents by entities.
  • Liaise with the Administration Team regarding account queries.
  • Prepare annual financial statements, solvency tests, asset statements, and other ad-hoc financial reporting while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines for tax returns and jurisdictional filings.
  • Prepare tax returns for UK property holdings with HMRC, Isle of Man tax returns, and other relevant tax documentation.
  • Provide first contact technical assistance to the accounting team as required.
  • Maintain awareness of changes pertinent to financial, legal, and regulatory frameworks that affect company operations.
  • Meet internal deadlines while ensuring high attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency across all financial records using relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Update accounts monitoring systems as necessary.
  • Complete and input time in the time billing system on a daily basis.
  • Undertake any other duties as required in accordance with the demands of the role.
  • Display and adhere to the company's established behaviours in all aspects of your role.

Job Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., ACCA) or a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Preferably fiduciary experience of accounting for company and trust structures.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An enquiring mind capable of questioning, researching, applying, and sharing learnings.
  • A high level of accuracy, initiative, exceptional organisational skills, and proficiency in accounting software, as well as MS Excel to an intermediate or higher level.
  • An ability to adapt to various bespoke IT/accounting systems and banking platforms.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A strong team player willing to go the extra mile.
  • A proactive approach to dealing with complex issues in a timely manner.
