Senior Associate Dispute Resolution

Our client is seeking a qualified Dispute Resolution Lawyer to join their esteemed practice. This role is full-time with a focus on providing exceptional client service during difficult times for various clients, from fiduciaries and high net worth individuals to those facing unexpected legal challenges such as divorce petitions. Our client takes pride in their expertise across a wide range of dispute resolution areas, including both public and private law. They engage in diverse cases from civil forfeiture proceedings to regulatory and insolvency disputes, as well as personal injury, matrimonial law, and criminal law matters. As a close-knit team, our client is expanding to meet growing demands from clients, offering a compelling opportunity for the right candidate to make a significant impact within the firm.

Job Duties:

• Manage a varied and complex caseload, including running individual matters while assisting on larger and more complex cases.
• Work independently as well as under the supervision of more senior lawyers and partners on contentious and advisory matters for both individuals and organisations, including multi-jurisdictional issues.
• Engage in the predominant financial services industry work in Guernsey, which includes funds, banking, and trust disputes, along with contentious insolvency, regulatory investigations, sanctions, fraud, and asset tracing.
• Represent clients in professional negligence, employment, medical negligence, and property and construction litigation.

Job Requirements:

• 2-10 years’ post-qualification experience in civil and/or commercial litigation, preferably in the relevant specialisations.
• Qualified to practice as a Barrister or Solicitor in England & Wales.
• The successful candidate should be an advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey, or keen to achieve this status promptly.
• Experienced courtroom advocate with a proactive and confident team approach.
• Ability to identify key issues swiftly, effectively utilising time and resources.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to actively market and grow the firm, while fostering strong relationships with existing clients.
• Excellent oral, written, organisational, and time management skills.
