Captive Insurance Technician

Our client is seeking a Captive Insurance Technician to provide essential administrative support within their professional services environment. This role is tailored for an individual with exceptional organisational and administrative skills, who values reliability and detail-oriented work. Working hours are flexible from Monday to Friday, between 9.00am and 5.00pm, with a one-hour lunch break, accommodating client and business needs. The chosen candidate will assist a small portfolio of captive insurance clients while also supporting the wider team where capacity allows. While prior experience in insurance can be beneficial, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments and enjoys contributing to team success while maintaining high standards of administration.

Job Duties:

  • Preparation, formatting, and distribution of Board meeting packs.
  • Scheduling and organising Board meetings and logistics.
  • Maintaining accurate filing systems (both electronic and physical) including archiving.
  • Proofreading documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Preparation and issuance of policy documentation, including policies, endorsements, debit notes, and certificates.
  • Updating and maintaining client records and registers.
  • Supporting claims administration, including updating bordereaux and arranging payments.
  • Providing administrative assistance to Account Managers and accountants.
  • Assisting with company secretarial tasks, such as board minutes (where required).
  • Supporting ad-hoc team projects and managing workflow peaks.
  • Providing holiday and absence cover within the team.
  • Managing and prioritising workload to meet deadlines.
  • Highlighting proactive issues or bottlenecks.
  • Ensuring all outputs meet internal quality standards.

  • Confidence dealing directly with external clients.
  • Reliability, consistency, and the ability to manage routine tasks effectively.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
