Senior Client Accountant

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Client Accountant to join a dynamic team located in the Isle of Man. The successful candidate will support the Bookkeeping and Accounting Team with the preparation and review of financial statements for a portfolio of Trusts and Companies. The Accountant will also be responsible for ad hoc reporting and ensuring tax compliance as required. Candidates should possess experience in accounts preparation and exhibit an enthusiastic, confident, mature, and professional demeanour in the workplace. While experience in the Fiduciary industry is desirable, it is not essential. This position is a full-time opportunity, with the expectation of meeting client expectations and accounting deadlines.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and review financial statements for Trusts and Companies
  • Manage client expectations and adhere to accounting deadlines
  • Take ownership of responsibilities and prioritise workload effectively
  • Communicate clearly with line managers and third parties
  • Familiarise oneself with banking and accounting systems swiftly
  • Achieve personal targets, including time recording and utilisation
  • Manage risk with the support of the line manager and escalate as needed
  • Prepare high-quality financial statements in line with laws and accounting practices
  • Support peers with technical and ad hoc financial queries
  • Develop strong working relationships with the Bookkeeping and Trust Administration Teams

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience in the preparation and review of Trust and Company financial statements
  • Understanding of relevant statutory requirements and UK GAAP
  • Ability to use judgement and initiative in applying standard work practices
  • Strong prioritisation and time management skills
  • Self-motivated with a focus on exceeding targets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is desirable
  • Relevant professional qualification (such as ACCA or ACA) and work experience in the financial services industry
