Counsel, Dispute Resolution

This full-time role is based in Jersey and centres around delivering excellence in client service within the Dispute Resolution team. The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in business development within the local market, collaborating closely with the managing partner to enhance the firm's presence and offering on cross-jurisdictional matters. The position will involve handling a diverse array of commercial litigation and insolvency matters, including high-value disputes, interim relief applications, shareholder disputes, injunctions, and commercial trials. The role also demands exceptional legal expertise and the capability to generate innovative solutions to complex problems, ensuring that client needs remain paramount. The candidate will engage in numerous business development activities and strive to achieve set targets. Job Duties:

• Provide tailored legal advice and take appropriate action
• Engage in effective note-taking and ensure clear recording of instructions
• Utilise strong research skills to provide detailed legal opinions
• Draft concise letters and reports in plain language for clients
• Conduct interviews and advise clients on the best course of action
• Produce confident written and oral advocacy in time-sensitive environments
• Contribute to business development initiatives within the team and firm
• Promote the diverse services of the firm to clients as opportunities arise
• Actively participate in thought leadership and introduce new clients to the firm
• Identify and attend suitable networking opportunities to enhance business growth

Job Requirements:

• Qualified solicitor with 10+ years of post-qualification experience
• Proven experience in commercial litigation, specifically in restructuring and insolvency
• Background with a top-tier international firm (magic circle experience advantageous)
• Admitted to practice in England & Wales or Jersey
