The role of an AML Compliance Officer, reporting into the Group Money Laundering Reporting Officer, is critical in supporting the day-to-day compliance tasks across all Group companies, as outlined in the AML/CFT/CFP and Sanctions policies and procedures. This position involves active contributions to the AML Compliance Team's daily activities, ensuring alignment with the overarching objectives of the Group Risk and Compliance Department. Key responsibilities include conducting regular AML compliance monitoring in accordance with the Group Compliance Assurance Monitoring Framework and analysing the results to recommend necessary operational changes. The officer will assist in preparing and delivering AML training, conducting checks on sanctions lists, and investigating AML breaches. Additional duties comprise maintaining appropriate Group Registers and providing guidance to staff, while also supporting ad hoc project work as required. This role further involves assisting the MLRO during regulatory inspections and ensuring a robust AML framework that guides organisational behaviour, informs business decision-making, and bolsters comprehensive compliance across the Group.
Job Duties:
- Actively contribute to the day-to-day activities of the AML Compliance Team.
- Carry out regular AML compliance monitoring as per the Group Compliance Assurance Monitoring Framework.
- Analyse results of AML compliance monitoring and recommend changes to operational procedures.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of AML training.
- Conduct checks on sanctions lists.
- Aid in the investigation of AML breaches.
- Maintain appropriate Group Registers for the AML Compliance Team.
- Provide guidance and support to staff across the Group.
- Undertake ad hoc project work as required by the Group MLRO.
- Assist the MLRO in regulatory inspections and subsequent remediation.
- Maintain an effective AML framework to define organisational behaviours and enhance operational performance.
- Support the MLRO and DMLRO in ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.
Job Requirements:
- ICA qualified in Anti-Money Laundering to Certificate level or currently studying towards this qualification, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an AML Subject Matter Expert role, ideally within the second line function of a regulated financial services company.
- Strong knowledge of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing the insurance or financial service sectors across various jurisdictions.
- Understanding of Compliance and AML/CFT requirements in the Isle of Man.
- Experience in AML monitoring or audit skills, alongside strong analytical and investigative abilities.
- Ability to build positive working relationships and a willingness to share knowledge in AML tools and techniques.
- Capability to proactively manage one’s workload in a busy environment.
- Understanding of ethics and integrity principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for diverse audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of SharePoint is desirable.
