This role involves providing specialist investment expertise in the development, maintenance, and optimisation of investment propositions. The position is full time and reports to the Head of Commercial. The successful candidate will be responsible for investment research, fund governance, managing provider relationships, and overseeing fund range management. Duties include conducting investment analysis to support proposition development, acting as the organisation's investment subject matter expert, and leading the integration of investment strategy into broader proposition design. Additionally, this role involves monitoring unit-linked fund ranges, managing fund rebate agreements, and ensuring alignment of investment propositions with regulatory requirements and customer needs. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of cross-border life insurance and unit-linked products, as well as excellent analytical and organisational skills.
Job Duties:
- Conduct investment research, analysis, and testing to support proposition development and decision-making.
- Act as the organisation’s investment subject matter expert, providing guidance on fund options, structures, and suitability to internal stakeholders.
- Lead investment input into the design and optimisation of investment solutions and fund ranges.
- Partner closely with the Propositions Manager to integrate investment strategy into broader proposition design.
- Monitor and manage unit-linked fund ranges, recommending changes to improve competitiveness and performance.
- Lead the review and maintenance of asset acceptance criteria.
- Prepare analysis and recommendations for Investment Committees and support governance processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with fund groups, custodians, stockbrokers, wealth managers, and platforms.
- Manage fund rebate agreements and oversee provider performance.
- Assess the impact of business change on investment propositions.
- Design and deliver investment-specific training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain investment-related literature and collateral for accuracy and consistency.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in investment analysis, fund research, and investment management.
- Professional qualification in investments or insurance.
- Good understanding of cross-border life insurance and unit-linked products.
- Understanding of investment due diligence processes.
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Strong commercial awareness, particularly in fund economics and relationships.
- Experience working with external investment providers, asset managers, or wealth managers.
- Experience delivering training and technical support to colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft tools (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI).
- Experience using investment research platforms (e.g., Morningstar, Bloomberg).
